Billy Brewer, 39, is a left-handed former Major League reliever who pitched for the Kansas City Royals and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Last week he made his debut as a professional bass fisherman. Brewer finished in 45th place. That was good enough for an $11,000 check. Moneywise, that’s comparible to the PGA tour.
Of course, I’m JOKING about Brewer being a two-sport star. But, they take their fishing quite seriously down south. An article in today’s Orlando Sentinel compares Brewer to Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders (I’m NOT KIDDING about that.)
