CHRIS HENRY IS BUSTED AND FIRED

This week Henry was arrested for the FIFTH time since joining the Bengals.  At his most recent arraignment, noting Henry’s previous arrests involving drugs, guns and alcohol, a municipal judge called Henry “a one-man crime wave.” He ordered electronic monitoring if Henry makes bail.

Henry was arrested for assault after allegedly punching an 18-year-old man in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle this week.

The Bengals have had enough. Yesterday they cut the troubled wide receiver.

Said Bengals president Mike Brown in a team-issued statement: 

 “Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals.  His conduct can no longer be tolerated.”

“The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career,” Brown said. “We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. … But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team.”

Henry was suspended for the first half of last season because of his criminal activity. He was also suspended for the first two games of 2006.

The Bengals have had nine different players arrested since Henry joined the team.
