UNKNOWN, UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT SAYS HE’LL RUSH FOR 2,000 YARDS

DENVER BRONCOS RUNNING BACK SELVIN YOUNG

The Big Lead found this story in the Denver Post:

You’ve got to hand it to Denver Broncos running back Selvin Young. At least he thinks big.

Yesterday, during the second week of offseason practices, Young predicted he would rush for over 2,000 yards this season. That would be quite a feat since only five players in NFL history have ever done that (O.J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis and Jamal Lewis.)

Not to mention Young isn’t even the Broncos starting running back. At least not yet. He still has to beat out fat, overpaid, dope-smokingbaby making (nine children with nine women and counting) machine Travis Henry. Still, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan was impressed by the brashness of his second year halfback,

“I’d like for him to prove that to me,” Shanahan said. “And he could very well do it. There’s a big difference from your first year to your second year.”

Despite being undrafted, Young ran for 729 yards on 5.2 yards per carry his rookie year for Denver out of the University of Texas.
