TYREKE EVANS HIGHLIGHTS
Looks like basketball superstar Tyreke Evans got out of high school in the nick of time. Evans is considered by many scouts as the best high school player in the country.
He currently attends American Christian Academy which has been accused of being a “diploma mill.” According to the Philadelphia Inquirer the school is closing its athletic programs – including basketball – in a “swirl of controversy.” In fact, the entire high school is reportedly being shut down and will no longer exist.
The school’s former coach, Ray Carroll, accused American Christian of being a diploma mill after he was fired in 2006. Among the players currently attending the school are the son of former NBA player Michael Dickerson and two highly rated players from New York (Junior guard Lamont “MoMo” Jones and freshman guard Achraf Yacoubou.) Their futures are currently up in the air.
Tyreke Evans was the most valuable player at this year’s McDonald’s All-America Game. He is expected to play college basketball next season at Memphis.
