FORREST GRIFFIN TAKES TITLE AT UFC 86

UFC 86 GRIFFIN VS JACKSON

It looks like Forrest Griffin really is The Ultimate Fighter.

Griffin defeated Rampage Jackson in an epic UFC battle tonight at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The win makes Griffin the new UFC light heavyweight champion.

Griffin started his UFC career as the season one winner on the Spike TV reality series The Ultimate Fighter. Now his career has come full circle. Griffin and Jackson were the coaches on season 7 of The Ultimate Fighter.

The judges scored the fight a unanimous decision 49-46, 48-46, 48-46 for Griffin. According to Griffin,

“This is the greatest night of my life.”

Other winners on the UFC 86 card included Josh Kosheck, Joe Stevenson, Gabriel Gonzaga, Tyson Griffin, and Patrick Cote. The latest UFC card took place before a sold out crowd at Mandalay Bay. The same venue drew just 8,300 for last week’s Manny Pacquiao/David Diaz boxing match.
