YANKEE FANS MAY HAVE CARL PAVANO TO KICK AROUND AGAIN

CARL PAVANO

From AOL Fanhouse via The New York Post:

There’s bad news and more bad news for the New York Yankees today.

First, pitcher Carl Pavano, the biggest free agent bust in Yankees history, may actually be back in pinstripes.  Pavano is in the final season of a $40 million contract during which he’s won a grand total of five games. New York GM Brian Cashman says Pavano is throwing off the mound and may be ready for an August return. Not that anyone wants him back. Pavano has won one game in the past three seasons and is universally despised by Yankee fans, players and the front office alike.

Meanwhile being able to throw off a pitching mound actually puts Pavano’s rehab schedule ahead of prized young pitcher Phil Hughes. Hughes’ return to the Yankees has been delayed at least until August.
