LAS VEGAS CONSTRUCTION WORKERS STRIKE CITYCENTER PROJECT OVER SAFETY ISSUES

CITYCENTER PROJECT IN LAS VEGAS

A majority of union workers on the multi-billion dollar CityCenter project in Las Vegas went on strike Monday. The workers are striking following the sixth death of a construction worker on the project last week. A union official called the number of deaths on the project “unacceptable.”

CityCenter will occupy the space where the old Boardwalk Casino was on the Las Vegas Strip-across from the MGM Grand and south of Bellagio.

The strike (which has targeted Perini Construction) has shut down the $9.2 billion project.

  1. John Olesky Says:

Perini has been using people with Bogus credential. I personally caught and reported someone working for the company who was using the CSP, Certified Safety Professional credentials who was not one and had never been one. Someone needs to check all the credentials or certifications of the managers and engineers working on their sites.
