This might be enough to get me to skip the Beijing Olympics.
The Chicago Tribune has an article today about the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres trip to China. The paper says Padres closer Trevor Hoffman and setup man Heath Bell “embraced” the local culture. They ate scorpions, silkworms and jellyfish, drank snake wine and visited the Great Wall.
Each MLB player was paid $40,000 for the trip.
Ok, I’m down with the visiting-The-Great-Wall part, but WTF! On the other hand getting paid $ 40,000 to eat scorpions and jellyfish and drink snakes is probably a pretty good haul on Fear Factor.
