Now, Spain’s Olympic tennis team is in trouble for posing for exactly the same type of pictures. The entire Spanish team is seen slanting their eyes. So far the Olympics have been a huge success both in terms of tv ratings and ad revenues. More than that, this Olympiad has been creating a buzz. This has arguably been the most watched and most TALKED ABOUT Olympics in history.
Nobody likes a downer, but amidst all of the success and fervor we have the first drug scandal of the Olympics. It has been all but ignored.
Cyclist Maria Moreno of Spain has been sent packing by the IOC following a positive drug test. A cyclist testing positive for a banned substance isn’t exactly big news. This is: The president of the World Anti-Doping Agency has told the Associated Press that cheating and drug use is so pervasive in cycling and weight lifting that the Olympics are considering dropping both sports.
That’s right, cycling and weight lifting face expulsion from the Olympics because virtually ALL of their athletes cheat and use illegal drugs.
Take that Lance Armstrong.
