ACTOR GENE HACKMAN RETIRES

 

Actor Gene Hackman says he’s retired. The 78-year-old has appeared in almost 80 movies including The French Connection, Unforgiven, The Poseidon Adventure, Hoosiers, Mississippi Burning, and Young Frankenstein.

Hackman, who hasn’t made a movie in four years, says he doesn’t want to return to Hollywood,

“At my age, they would have me playing grandfathers and great grandfathers. That’s not a heck of a lot of fun.”
